Motorola W396 VS Samsung E2510
Today some vendors produce cell phones that combine stylish desaign and interesting features in order to get public attentions. In the middle category with segmented market, Two popular vendors launch special products, Motorola release W396 and Samsung with their E2510.
Desaign comparation
Black colour with an elegant body shape is covering Samsung E2510. The cell phone with clamshell concept show shinny black and dop combination. The clear square form in ahead side make it looks so elegant. In the top side you can find digital camera.
Unfortunately E2510 doesn’t has external monitor, so if you look the head panel, no ornaments there, just glossy plastic surface. Motorola W396 has attractive desaign with combination between round corner and triangle in clamshell concept. The colour material covering with dark grey and metallic in the edge side.
Ahead component in W396 more looks like a monitor, and give glossy effect with green lis. Although it doesn’t an external monitor, but in that area there are three indicators that could light when we get a call, SMS and show battery signal. Like E2510, there is a digital camera in the top side.
Both phones use plastic as the keypad material. But when you try these, you’ll find that E2510 has more comfortable button. Both also have the current button to go directly to music player, FM radio and camera.
Screen
Both E2510 and W396 have similar depth colour. The display use LCD TFT 65 thousands colours. About size, E2510 is bigger than W396. Samsung E2510 has fresh looks with the newest icons and more colourfull. Different with E2510, Motorola W396 seems not to be attractive and dynamic compared with E2510. The menus are monoton with minimal variations. But over all, the display is user friendly enough.
Messaging
For this case, E2510 has a better perform. It offers complete features such as SMS, MMS, Push SMS, and email. W396 actually has a complete feature but without email service.
Camera
For camera W396 and E2510 can’t give optimal perform. Because the resolutions are still under the quality of other phones in the same class. E2510 and W396 only give VGA camera (640x 480pixel). But for the result, once again E2510 has better picture quality especially in the photos sharpness and capture areas, because it has wider viewfinder than W396.
Once again W396 doesn’t has any video record that usually given to other cell phones in the same class. E2510 still has this facilitiy although with minimum perform. The resolution is 160×120 pixel, this is not bad for record any special moments in 3gp format.
Entertaintmet
W396 has some multimedia features such as FM radio, music player, and games. The output speaker is not bad, clear and loud enough to hear.
E2510 has the same multimedia features, but the audio output from speaker and headset is better than W396.
Although both have integrated camera, but E2510 has completed with video player service. For games facilities, E2510 has 7 games, but these all just in trial version so you have to buy the lisence to play them. W396 has 2 full version games, so you can play it as you want.
Connectivity and Internet
Samsung has Bluetooth and data cable for connectivity, whereas W396 only has data cable. Fortunately, both of them are completed with WAP 2.0 and GPRS network to support the internet. It could access the website although with standart features.
Memory
E2510 has 15MB internal memory, and W396 only has 1 MB. Both have external memory slot, but W is better because it has provide microSD 2 GB in one selling pack. E2510 has easier way to set the external memory because it is located out of the body, so we don’t have any difficulty for this. Different with W396, you have to set the external memory inside the phone body, beside the SIM card.
Battery
W396 has 910mAh for battery capacity, E2510 has 800 mAh. So as the result, W has more power to stand until 3 days in once charging, and E only can stand for 2 – 2.5 days.
The conclusion
Priced in 1 million rupiah with fashionable desaign, E2510 has better perform than W396. it gives more complete features. But with the lower price, W396 is not too bad. Although it doesn’t has complete features, W396 can pay public attention with the attractive desaign. More over, it also has 2 GB free memory card.
