Gadgets Games And Cell Phone Review

The issue which is told that some local brands were collapsed give impact to old players such HTC and i-mobile. Recently both released new cell phones to attract consumers by giving some features like tv tunner and dual on GSM-GSM.

HT Mobile released HT66 while one of Thailand’s vendor launched i-mobile 533. with almost same facilities and prices, I think they are deserve to be compared at this time. But how about their perform in accommodating the user’s need ?

Design
Just like other tv cell phones, both are applicating classic design. HT66 has long body with full metal cover. It seems stronger and stiffer than HT65. Different with i-mobile 533, the body seems softer with a curve corner design. The casing material is from metal just same with HT66 which use thicker metal material.

In keypad structure, HT66 has old mode where the Chinese characteristic seem dominant here. We could see it in star button (*), zero (0), and fence button(#) where are located in the right row. This is similar with HT65 Doublex and HT71 Hybrid. In some cases, this condition cause any problem for new users because messages writing would take more time than usual.

In this area i-mobile win one point. The keypad structure has standart mode, so it would be recognized by any users. The material and keypad surface are also softer. We could compare it with HT66’s keyboard which is hard when it were pressed.

One plus point HT66, it has Dual On technology, G1 for main GSM card and G2 for second card. We could use it easier because of the clear sign. Different with i-mobile, it didn’t explain more about dual on function by special icon. We have to choose one of two GSM card, 1 or 2 on the display before we use call facility.

Screen and User Interface
A best screen quality give big influence for the users. In this side HT 66 has TFT touchscreen LCD with 262.144 depth colours, 2.6 inch display and WQVGA resolution. Although it is claimed widescreen with 16:9 comparison, but it doesn’t seems work optimal yet. The colour is not perfect.

It is different with i-mobile. Although it only use standart screen, without touchscreen technology with only 2.4 inch display, i-mobile 533 could give better appearance than HT66. It is bright and clear.

About interface sector, HT66 win one step. The interface consept looks more dynamic and attractive. The magic touch technology could give comfort for the user in interacting with the cellphone.

Grid mode with 4 big icons in different function could be accessed by one touch, remind us in Touch Flo in HTC or Apple iPhone. There is also screen autorotate which is collaborated with gravity censor technology.

In interface area, there’s nothing special on i-mobile. It has only standart interface, just like most cellphones. The arrangement is also very usual with classic grid menu. But however, this simplicity still give another plus point from certain consumers.

High Features
TV Tunner
Although, it is not shindy as HiTech H38/H39 era in presenting tv analog, tv facility in a cellphone still becomes plus value. About tv tunner chips, both cellphones use Telegant Systems hardware which is wellknown as tv mobile hardware supplier.

When we were testing to see the perform, running the same television broadcast in the same location, we found that i-mobile perform better than HT66. The colour combination in i-mobile display seems perfect and natural. In HT66, the picture seems dim and unfocus, especially in landscape mode.

The interesting, HT66 has adopt autorotate technology and gravity censor which make us possible to rotate the screen appearance authomaticly. We couldn’t find it on i-mobile 533. Beside that HT66 also provide tv record facility.

Network and Internet
Just like I said before, both cellphones have dual on technology so we could insert 2 SIM cards in the cell phones. Both could operate together without switching process. Beside that, both SIM cards could work well and fluently. We could enjoy SIM tool kit and access internet network.
HT66 and i-mobile 533 brought WAP 1.2.1 browser as internet interaction media, while the data canal only touch GPRS. That’s not satisfy enough if we use it for accessing mobile facebook or chatting.

Camera
In this sector, HT66 win one point. Because it has supported by 2 megapixel camera resolution, while i-mobile only present VGA camera. But in interface side, both use equal software from the same developer.

For viewfinder, photo area in i-mobile 533 has portrait default with fullscreen mode. While HT66 only a half of it. But although with this condition, Photo object in i-mobile is not as wide as HT66. The picture area is convergent on one point. It is different with HT66 which could reach wider area surround the objects. Thus, sometimes it cause the result becomes unfocus. Compare it with i-mobile 533, narrow area with full objects make the result is better and clear.

Looking at the photo quality, even HT66 has 2 megapixel resolution, the photos result is standart, even some look blur. While i-mobile perform well with only VGA camera. I make sure that it is better than Motorola VGA or Nokia low end cell phoneS.

Multimedia
In entertainment side, both are offering many things. Almost all entertaintment facilities are in, such as music/ video player, FM radio and games. Both also give attractive interface and many supported files format.

But talking about speaker quality, i-mobile perform better because this cell phone has been supported by AudioEngine chip from Yamaha. The audio output is loud enough but still easy to listen. The trebbel and bass work harmonious. It is different with HT66’s audio output which lack of quality.

Connectivity
Both cell phones have accommodating well in connectivity and transfer file problem. There are Bluetooth support A2DP, and data cable so we could use the cell phone as mass storage or PC webcam.

Battery
Power supply for both cell phones are from lithium ion battery. HT 66 hac 1100 mAh and i-mobile has 1100 mAh. For tv broadcast time, HT66 could stand for 4 hours, while i-mobile 533 until 4.5 hours.

Conclusion

In features area, each HT66 and i-mobile have plus and minus points. But over all, the perform are equal. HT66 for example, has better interface by magic touch and gravity censor technology. I-mobile 533 is very cool with the tv performance plus Yamaha AudioEngine.

In Dual On side, both also accommodate our need. So, the decision is in your turn !!
