The impression about CDMA cell phone is usually about the lower communication and SMS rates. So, no wonder if these cell phones only have limited function than GSM handset. The cheap label in the CDMA cell phone is used by many vendors to release low end handset. Samsung have just released CDMA series named Samsung SCH-B259. Let’s compare it with Nokia 1325 CDMA that have been exist before.

Samsung SCH-B259 come with attractive sticky desaign. The body isn’t clumsy because the corner is made spherical, covering with colour combination grey, metallic and black.Different with the rival, Nokia 1325 CDMA look more simply. The candybar model is covering with black colour. The same with it simply function, just for voice and SMS.

Samsung is also completed with metallic navigation button with silver lis ornament.Samsung keypad is more comfortable and soft enough for used, although made from hard plastic. Each button elements make easy for the users.In other side, Nokia composition button need extra energy to be pushed. The soft plastic material cause a little problem because is slicky enough. The little size of navigation button and the softkey in Nokia is also disturbing and difficult to be executed. Samsung come with easier way because it has an OK-option button in the middle of navigation button.

In the Mobile World Conggres 2009, Sony Ericsson launched some high features cell phones. Some of them were trying to show high resolution camera, WIFI connection until high speed data access via HSDPA network, just like in Sony Ericsson W995.

The same with Idou, sony ericsson W995 has another concept name called “Hikaru”. Based on information, this is the first series cell phone which combine walkman technology together with cybershot, part of the Sony’s strategic plan in the future.

The slide desaign is cool enough, completed with kickstand at the back side to give comfort for the users when they were watching video on the 2.6 inch monitor. Unfortunately this cell phone doesn’t support widescreen aspect ratio, not either in the way to support DivX or XviD file format.

We have already know ASUS well by their products such as laptop and PC. Today Asus try to expand their market in Indonesia by launch smart phones. So far, 4 PDA cell phones have been released and next, we’ll find more about Asus P552w as one of low budget ASUS PDA. This is quite interesting because ASUS PDA will build a competition with HTC, both are popular vendors from Taiwan. P552w come with almost same HTC technology but with the lower price.

About design, Asus P552 is made with simple looks. Not different with other PDA cell phones, the design becomes wide following the palm of hand, slim enough, without keypad button. We could see like this in the old HTC product such as Touch.

Like mentioned before, the button function is very limited. Button provided only for communication (call/end), menus, d-pad, power and volume. But actually, it’s uncomfortable for the user because of the position and the transparent plastic material.

The plastic material which is covering the PDA seems so weak and looks like a toy especially on the battery cover. But, we need to remember that this material is used to reduce the weight. It would be different if it use doff material just like in HTC P3400i.

This technology bring 5030 as the first Nokia XpressRadio cell phone. To make it different with the other xpressmusic, Nokia has design it with special button to access the radio and channel frequencies directly.

Nokia 5030 XpressRadio in other side, the 1020 mAh Lithium ion battery could stand live radio at least for one day with 10 hours talktime. Anyway, it will hit the market in the second quartal of 2009 with estimated price at 40 euro.
